Description: Naval battle between Dutch ships and Spanish galleys, 1602 or 1603. Representation the naval battle between the State squadron led by Vice Admiral Jacob van Duivenvoorde, Lord of Obdam, and the Spanish galleys in the Channel on Oct. 3, 1602, or of the naval battle off the coast at Sluis in which the eight Spanish galleys under Federico Spinola are defeated by the State fleet of three ships and two galleys under Joos de Moor, May 26, 1603. Some of the galleys are on fire. The flags of ships (including Haarlem, Leiden) are indicated by letters and shown at the top in color.
